Why backups?
Hard drives die. Ransomware happens. Someone's going to delete the wrong folder eventually — it's not if, it's when. We configure your system to automatically copy your records every night, ensuring you never lose critical data to accidents or viruses. If something goes wrong, just roll back to the last good state.
- Accidents. A misclick or a bad edit can destroy years of work.
- Viruses & ransomware. One infected machine can lock your whole office out of its data.
- Fire, flood, or theft. If your office goes, your data doesn't have to go with it.
The 3-2-1 backup system
We use the 3-2-1 backup rule — three copies of your data, on two different kinds of storage, with one copy off site:
| Copy |
Where |
What it's for |
| Copy 1 |
Your main file server |
The working copy you use every day. |
| Copy 2 |
Your on-site NAS drive |
The safety net for instant rollback when something goes wrong. |
| Copy 3 |
Encrypted, off site |
Your insurance against the whole building flooding or burning. |
The tech
How we keep your data safe
- Automated nightly jobs. Backups run on a schedule you never have to think about.
- Encryption at rest. The off-site copy is encrypted, so even if the drive is stolen, your data stays unreadable.
- Proxmox Backup Server. We send only the changes each night, saving bandwidth and storage.
- Verified restores. We test restores regularly so a backup is never a false promise.
- ZFS. Checksums every block of data and fixes silent errors automatically.
How it works
- Audit. We map out every place your data lives today.
- Deploy. We install your on-site NAS and configure automated backups.
- Encrypt & send. We set up the encrypted off-site copy.
- Monitor. We watch the backups and alert you the moment anything fails.
- Roll back. If something goes wrong, we restore your last good state fast.
